Scottish Kiss Productions is comprised of D. Grant Black and Patricia Dawn Robertson, two veteran Canadian writer-editors, seasoned satirists and now TV executive producers.

D. Grant Black has never been afraid to place his unique satiric vision firmly into the marketplace. He’s worked in both comedy improv and sketch comedy while he resided in Vancouver and Toronto. He was a writer-performer for Gratuitous Sex & Violence and The Girls, which were broadcast by Rogers Media in the Vancouver area. Black studied comedy writing at Vancouver Community College, film history/criticism & photography at Capilano University, broadcast journalism at BCIT, creative writing at Simon Fraser University and he completed a two-year diploma program at Douglas College (Vancouver area) — Professional Writing, Editing and Design — where his heavy course load included playwriting and Writing for Non-Print Media (broadcast media scripts).
D. Grant Black has worked in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Black is a writer, editor, magazine publisher, best-selling travel author, award-winning travel journalist and a newcomer executive producer for scripted, 30-minute serial comedies in development.

Patricia Dawn Robertson is both D. Grant Black’s life partner and script co-writer. Robertson is a second-generation media brat. Her childhood was spent following her sportswriter father’s jagged career path (John Robertson) from her Winnipeg hometown to Regina, Toronto, Montréal, Winnipeg, Florida, Toronto and back again. Robertson received her Honours B.A. from York University in English and Women’s Studies then proceeded on to graduate school before throwing in the towel to enter the family media business, just like a female scion.
Robertson wrote a regular satiric column on Western Canada in The Globe and Mail’s Focus section. Robertson has also written and produced radio commentaries for CBC Radio One’s regional and national broadcasts. She is a memoir workshop facilitator, memoir coach and memoir editor who is currently completing her own book project.
